Mumbai, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : A man was arrested for stealing a walkie-talkie from the VP Road police station in Mumbai. The incident occurred on September 17, and the suspect was apprehended at Andheri Railway Station with the stolen device in his possession.
According to Mumbai police, the thief entered the police beat chowki to inquire about food options in the area. During his visit, he noticed the walkie-talkie ringing repeatedly. Seizing the opportunity, he stole the device and fled the scene.
Investigators discovered that the suspect resides in Mumbai and often stays near railway stations. Following the theft, police launched an investigation that led them to track him down at Andheri Railway Station.
A senior officer from the Mumbai police stated that the suspect appears to be mentally disturbed, which may have motivated the theft.
The police confirmed, “A case of walkie-talkie theft from the VP Road police station beat chowki was reported. We have arrested the suspect at Andheri Railway Station and recovered the stolen item. The suspect is mentally disturbed, and further investigations are ongoing.”
Authorities are currently questioning the suspect to determine if he has been involved in similar incidents in the past. Additionally, police are reviewing security measures at the chowki to prevent future thefts.
