Mumbai, April 8: The lives of stars may appear glamorous and bright from the outside, but they often hide struggles and pain. Actress Tanaz Irani’s life resembles a film script, filled with ups and downs. She married at just 18 and became a mother at 20, facing societal opposition and the heartache of divorce, only to find love and remarry later.
Born on April 8, 1972, in Mumbai, Tanaz completed her education there. Now a mother of three, her fitness and cheerful personality make it hard to guess her age.
Tanaz married Farid Karim at 18. Two years later, at 20, she welcomed her first daughter, Jaini. This marriage faced significant backlash from her Parsi community, resulting in her being ostracized. Despite the challenges, Tanaz endured for the sake of love. Unfortunately, the marriage did not last, and she experienced the pain of divorce.
After her divorce, Tanaz sought to rebuild her life by entering the acting world. She made her film debut in 2000 with Rakesh Roshan’s “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai,” where she played the role of Neeta, Amisha Patel’s sister. Following this, she appeared in films like “Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai,” “36 China Town,” “Had Kar Di Aapne,” and “Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.” Tanaz also gained popularity on television, portraying memorable characters in shows such as “Jabaan Sambhal Ke,” “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki,” “Swabhimaan,” “Shree,” and “Apna Time Bhi Aayega.”
After her first marriage ended, Tanaz found love again while shooting for the show “Gurukul,” where she met actor Bakhtiyar Irani. Despite being eight years older, Tanaz faced initial resistance from Bakhtiyar’s family. However, Bakhtiyar’s sister, actress Delnaaz Irani, helped convince the family. Eventually, in 2007, Tanaz married Bakhtiyar, and together they welcomed two more children. Today, they live a happy life together.
Though Tanaz has stepped back from acting in recent years, her smile and positive energy remain as vibrant as ever.
