Mumbai, April 6: Tesla has inaugurated its first in-mall electric vehicle charging station in India at the Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
Located in the B1 parking area of the mall, this new charging station features a total of eight chargers, including four V4 Superchargers that offer fast DC charging at speeds of up to 250 kW, and four Destination Chargers providing 11 kW of AC charging.
This setup is designed to meet the diverse charging needs of Tesla users, offering both fast and long-duration charging options.
With this new feature, Tesla is further solidifying its presence in India’s growing electric mobility ecosystem. The company stated that it is focusing on locations where customers typically spend time, such as malls and highway stops, allowing users to conveniently charge their vehicles during daily activities.
Tesla’s Supercharger technology enables the Model Y to gain a range of 275 km in just 15 minutes, making intercity travel more practical.
The charging facility is integrated with the Tesla mobile app, allowing users to easily locate charging stations, manage charging, and make payments.
The Navi Mumbai station is Tesla’s fourth charging center in India. The company already operates charging facilities in Gurugram, Delhi, and Mumbai. With this new center, Tesla’s network now includes 20 Superchargers and 14 Destination Chargers in major cities.
In addition to the charging station, Tesla has also set up a pop-up store in the mall’s main atrium. This pop-up store provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about Tesla vehicles through test drives and interactive product demonstrations.
Tesla emphasized that this expansion reflects its commitment to building a reliable and accessible charging network in India, which will facilitate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. The Model Y is available for sale in India, starting at ₹59.89 lakhs.
