Terror modules busted, 5 LeT aides held in Kashmir

Srinagar, April 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claims to have busted two “terror modules” of proscribed outfit Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered three hand grenades and incriminating material in north Kashmir, officials said. Based on specific information, a joint team of security forces arrested four “terrorist associates” of banned LeT outfit in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, Police in a statement said, They were identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Asjhtangoo, Irfan Ahmad Jan of Qazipora, Sajad Ahmad Mir and Shriq Ahmad Mir both residents of Arin area of Bandipora. Two Chinese grenades and incriminating material were also recovered from their possession, police said. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the four arrested “terrorist associates” were involved in providing Sim cards and logistical support to the active terrorists in Bandipora areas”, they said. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and further investigation into the matter is in progress. Police along with security forces on a checkpoint established at Rakh Hajin arrested one “terrorist associate” who has been identified as Irfan Aziz Bhat a resident of Hajin and recovered a Chinese grenade from his possession. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused was in close contact with a Pakistan based terrorist Umer Lala, was directed to carry out terror attacks in Hajin area and was also in contact of the killed terrorist Saleem Parray of Hajin”, the statement said. A case under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Hajin and further investigation into the matter is in progress. QAB SHK1913
