New Delhi, February 5: Tensions escalated in the Lok Sabha as opposition women MPs surrounded Prime Minister Modi’s seat, prompting strong reactions from BJP members. They claimed that if PM Modi had attended the session on Wednesday, the situation could have escalated dramatically.

BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi expressed her dismay, stating, “A very unfortunate situation arose on Wednesday. We all know the circumstances under which Speaker Om Birla suspended the Lok Sabha, which will remain adjourned until tomorrow. It is regrettable that we missed the Prime Minister’s speech. I strongly condemn the deceit and conspiracy orchestrated by Congress. Women MPs were brought in and positioned with banners near the Prime Minister’s seat. We are eyewitnesses to this. We do not know what others might say, but we know what happened. It was fortunate that PM Modi did not come; otherwise, anything could have happened.”

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal added, “What occurred yesterday was neither a protest nor a commotion; it resembled a violent situation. The way Congress and opposition women MPs stood just four lines in front of the Prime Minister’s chair, where he typically enters, raises serious questions. Why did they go there? It suggests that if the Prime Minister had arrived, anything could have transpired.”

BJP MP Sandhya Rai noted, “As you all have seen, since the beginning of the monsoon session, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha have been repeatedly adjourned for various reasons. Yesterday, our leader in the House and our Prime Minister was scheduled to speak at 5 PM during the President’s address. I was presiding over the House at that time. Given the atmosphere and some strategies being adopted, I was compelled to immediately adjourn the Lok Sabha.”

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari remarked, “People like Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who are being shown their limits by the public and are losing elections, are doing everything to divert attention from their defeats. We will remain within the bounds of democracy, but we must show the true face of these individuals to the citizens of the country.”
