Shantipur (West Bengal), Mar 8 : At least 10 people were seriously injured when a bus, in which they were travelling, was hit by a truck at Govindapur on National Highway 34 in West Bengal’s Nadia district on Tuesday, official sources said. All the injured people have been admitted to the Shantipur State General hospital in a critical condition. Police said the head-on-collision happened around noon when the Ranaghat-bound packed private bus from Krishnanagar was hit by a speeding truck from the opposite direction. Police said most of the passengers of the packed bus sustained injuries. Of them, 10 seriously injured people have been hospitalised. The driver and conductor of the bus fled leaving the damaged vehicle on the road, that blocked the highway for some time before a police crane removed them. PC-SJC SSP
