Telanganas Chief Minister Envisions Future City on Par with Global Metropolises

Hyderabad, April 29: Telangana’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Tuesday that the ‘India Future City’ will be developed to the standards of Singapore, Tokyo, and New York.

He assured that the state government would protect farmers’ interests by providing fair compensation instead of acquiring their land for the new city.

The Chief Minister spoke during the foundation-laying ceremony for the ‘Future City Police Commissionerate.’ Residents approached him, requesting that their villages be included within the ‘Future City’ boundaries. He instructed officials to hold ‘Gram Sabhas’ to consider the wishes of local residents regarding the inclusion of these villages in the commissionerate’s jurisdiction.

Revanth Reddy also mentioned that the office of the ‘Future City Development Corporation’ will be inaugurated by June 2. He pledged that the government would extend all possible assistance to farmers whose lands are affected by this project.

“Our government will ensure that no one faces hardship. The state’s Industry Minister D. Shridhar Babu will always be available to address local grievances,” he stated. He urged officials to approach the issues of the poor and marginalized with empathy.

In a call for cooperation to transform ‘Future City’ into a magnificent urban center, he recalled the skepticism faced during the construction of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), which is now recognized as an exemplary infrastructure project nationwide.

The Chief Minister criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing it of spreading falsehoods to obstruct the ‘Future City’ initiative. He reiterated that ‘Future City’ will be promoted as an attractive destination for global investors.

He emphasized that out of seven bullet train projects approved nationwide, three are specifically allocated to Telangana. Additionally, proposals for bullet train networks connecting Bengaluru to Hyderabad, Shamshabad to Pune, and Shamshabad to Amaravati and Chennai have also received approval. He stated that such major projects will position Ranga Reddy district as a significant development hub.

The Chief Minister also appealed to Maoists to lay down their arms and reintegrate into mainstream society, assuring that the government is fully prepared to address their rehabilitation and health issues.
