Telangana Prepares for Grand State Formation Day Celebrations

Hyderabad, May 19: The Telangana government is making extensive preparations for the State Formation Day celebrations scheduled for June 2. The main official event will take place at Parade Ground in Secunderabad.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will first visit the Martyrs’ Memorial at Ganesh Park to pay tribute to the fallen heroes before joining the celebrations at Parade Ground.

Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj held a meeting with senior officials on Tuesday to ensure proper arrangements for these grand festivities. An official press release stated that he reviewed the preparations with relevant officials at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat.

During the meeting, he provided specific instructions regarding arrangements at both Parade Ground and Ganesh Park. He suggested appointing a nodal officer from each department to oversee the preparations and ensure better coordination among departments.

He directed the police department to establish adequate security measures for the routes used by VIPs and other dignitaries. Additionally, he emphasized the need for proper parking arrangements for vehicles at Parade Ground, the creation of a traffic route map, and ensuring that there are no disruptions to traffic.

The Roads and Buildings Department has been instructed to install waterproof canopies and barricades. He also urged relevant officials to ensure cleanliness at the event site and provide sufficient drinking water facilities.

The Special Chief Secretary directed the Culture Department to organize cultural programs featuring various artists to create a festive atmosphere for the event.

He instructed officials from the Electricity Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply and arrange backup generators, as well as to decorate the Assembly, State Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhavan, and other government buildings with attractive lighting.

The Special Commissioner of the Information Department was tasked with arranging live telecasts to promote the State Formation Day celebrations widely.

He advised all departments to work in coordination to ensure the event’s success. Furthermore, he ordered joint rehearsals by all departments at Parade Ground starting from May 25.
