Hyderabad, March 13 : Telangana added 50 new COVID-19 infection cases until 1730 hours on Sunday, to push the cumulative caseload to 7,90,352 till date. No death was reported on Sunday to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. The state’s death toll stands at 4,111 translating a case fatality rate of 0.52 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight. A total of 164 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 7,85,299 constituting a recovery rate of 99.35 per cent. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 950, the bulletin said. As many as 16,128 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 508 swab samples are awaited. Cumulatively, 3,38,54,302 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said. Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad M cipal Corporation (GHMC) remained the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 23 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours followed by Rangareddy (9), and Karimnagar (6). The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added. VV SHK2314
