Hyderabad, June 3: The Telangana High Court has upheld a decision to deny permission for a meeting organized by the Jana Sena Party, led by Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The court dismissed a house motion petition filed for an urgent hearing regarding the meeting scheduled for June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day.
The court stated that the request lacked sufficient strength to be considered as an immediate proposal.
The Jana Sena Party challenged the Cyberabad police’s decision to refuse permission for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Telangana Nav Nirman Sankalp Sabha.’
Previously, the party indicated that if the High Court denied permission, Pawan Kalyan would address the media from his residence in Jubilee Hills.
On social media platform X, Pawan Kalyan announced, “I will hold a press conference at my home in Jubilee Hills today. I hope the Telangana police department allows me to conduct this press conference with JSP leaders.”
He emphasized that the Jana Sena Party was born on Telangana’s soil, inheriting and embodying the spirit of struggle from the land.
While congratulating the people of Telangana on their Formation Day, he reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people, preserving their dignity, and achieving their overall development goals.
The Cyberabad police had previously rejected the request to hold the Jana Sena meeting.
C.H. Srinivas, Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Serilingampally zone, informed Jana Sena Party General Secretary Talluri Ram that the request was denied to ensure law and order and public peace.
The Jana Sena Party responded, stating that the reasons given for the denial raised more questions than answers, appearing more like excuses than genuine concerns.
On social media, the party questioned, “How do baseless comments from an analyst and the responses to those comments suddenly pose a threat to law and order across Telangana? Isn’t this a flimsy excuse to prevent the event?”
