Telangana CM Rebuts Kerala Counterparts Claims on Social Media

Hyderabad, April 7: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has responded point-by-point to social media posts made by his Kerala counterpart, Pinarayi Vijayan.

In his reply, Reddy highlighted several inaccuracies, selective quotes, and clear omissions in Vijayan’s seven posts. He expressed his concerns in a six-page letter addressed to the Kerala Chief Minister, emphasizing that Vijayan’s data is outdated and pertains to the past.

Reddy noted, “A quick initial observation: nearly all the statistics you present are from the NITI Aayog’s SDG Index for the period 2023-24. This was the final phase of a disastrous decade for Telangana, marked by a combined assault from the BJP at the center and the BRS in the state, which brought our people to their lowest point. That period ended in December 2023. You are measuring our recovery with data from before our government took office.”

He further questioned, “What is even more shocking is your claim— and I quote your own tweet— ‘By the end of 2025, Kerala will become the first state in the country to completely eliminate extreme poverty.’ It is now April 2026. Are you discussing the past in the future tense? Has this happened? Or is this just another unfulfilled promise from the LDF?”

Revanth Reddy also informed Vijayan that he would be visiting Thiruvananthapuram on April 7 and would share the stage with him. Inviting Vijayan for a debate, he expressed eagerness to hear his views in a positive and fact-based discussion.

On April 3, Vijayan had launched a sharp attack on Reddy through a series of tweets. This came after Reddy criticized the LDF government in Kerala during his participation in an electoral campaign in the state.

Vijayan had posted, “The recent derogatory remarks by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy about Kerala are completely baseless. It is ironic that someone who bulldozes the homes of the poor in his own state tries to preach about social progress in Kerala. He has merely become a mouthpiece for those attempting to undermine our sustainable and inclusive development model.”
