Telangana Chief Minister Participates in 2027 Census Self-Enumeration

Hyderabad, April 26: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy participated in the self-enumeration process for the 2027 Census on Sunday. He completed his registration through the official web portal.

During this event, census officials briefed the Chief Minister on the self-enumeration process and its significance, highlighting its role in ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.

The Chief Minister urged all citizens of the state to actively participate in the census and utilize the self-enumeration facility. He emphasized that public involvement is crucial for effective planning and development.

Present at the event were Telangana Census Director Bharti Holikeri, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Joint Chief Census Officer Priyanka Ala, and Information and Public Relations Commissioner Chekka Priyanka, among other senior officials.

The self-enumeration phase of the 2027 Census in Telangana commenced on Sunday and will continue until May 10. This process integrates the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation as a single census unit.

During this 15-day period, residents can voluntarily submit their family details online through the official portal.

Bharti Holikeri, the Census Director, noted that the portal includes 33 questions related to housing, amenities, and properties. Residents can log in daily from 6 AM to midnight. No documents are required, and the process is expected to take 15-20 minutes. After submitting their information, families will receive a Self-Enumeration ID (SE ID) to be shared with enumerators during verification.

A toll-free helpline, 1855, will operate from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The GHMC will also run an awareness campaign titled “Self-Enumeration Festival – 15 Days,” with the theme “Do It Yourself – Don’t Wait for the Enumerator.”

Following the online phase, a house-to-house survey and household listing campaign (HLO) will take place from May 11 to June 9, which will include marking on walls.

According to officials, the 2027 Census will be India’s first fully digital census. It will also be the first census for Telangana as a separate state and will include caste enumeration.
