Hyderabad, March 15 : Telangana Assembly on Tuesday approved by ‘voice vote’ the Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2021-22. The bill authorises the government to draw from the consolidated fund of the state. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who piloted the Bill, replying to the discussion on it, said that the state was making rapid strides in various fields besides implementing welfare schemes. He said that the government was making sincere efforts to save public sector organisations including the state road transport corporation. Rao announced that the government’s flagship Dalit Bandhu scheme for empowering Dalit families and enable entrepreneurship among them through a direct benefit transfer of Rs ten lakh per family would be extended to 40,000 Dalit families by end of the current month.
