Patna, July 28: Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman, the national president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha and Bihar’s Minister for Minor Water Resources, has criticized Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He claims that Yadav’s promises of government jobs and pensions to students involved in the NEET movement are merely political tactics. Suman stated that such announcements are aimed at misleading the youth for political gain.
On Tuesday, Dr. Suman remarked that it seems Tejashwi Yadav has suddenly become concerned about students and youth. He questioned why Yadav did not stand with the students when they were protesting about their future.
He emphasized that true leadership is demonstrated by standing with the youth during tough times, while making grand promises during elections is easy. The Bihar government has decided to withdraw actions related to the protests, suggesting that the opposition is now trying to exploit student issues for political advantage.
Dr. Suman accused Yadav of using the emotions of the youth for vote bank politics. He also mentioned that Yadav should be aware of the history of the JP movement. The pension scheme for JP movement veterans, which Yadav refers to, was implemented by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government, not during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure.
He criticized the distortion of historical facts, stating that the ‘Bunty-Babli duo’ of Lalu and Tejashwi has been misleading the youth with false promises for years. However, he believes that the youth of Bihar are now more aware and will evaluate leadership based on actions, credibility, and decisions made in the public interest, rather than mere announcements.
It is noteworthy that Tejashwi Yadav has stated that if his government comes to power in the future, he will consider providing pensions to students arrested during the NEET protests, similar to those for participants of the JP movement.
