Patna, February 18: Lakhendra Paswan, a minister in the Bihar government, responded sharply to opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks about a “puppet chief minister.” He stated that Yadav’s ability to see development has been impaired, suggesting he needs glasses to recognize progress.
In a conversation in Patna, Paswan emphasized that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is tirelessly working to strengthen Bihar. He mentioned that Kumar has been actively traveling across the state to address the public’s issues. “Every day, he attends both houses and makes decisions himself. If Tejashwi Yadav points fingers at the Chief Minister, it indicates that his mirror reflecting development has shattered. He needs glasses to see the progress,” Paswan asserted.
Responding to RLM MLA Madhav Anand’s call for a review of the liquor ban law, Paswan reiterated that the government’s vision and intent were clear when the ban was implemented. He highlighted that the liquor ban is essential for women’s empowerment and the overall development of Bihar. “If someone demands a review of the liquor ban, it is a valid request,” he added.
CPI (M) leader Ajay Kumar also commented on Yadav’s “puppet chief minister” remark, recalling his experience as a member of the 17th Assembly. He recounted a situation where the Education Secretary announced extended school hours, leading to widespread protests. Kumar stated that after the protests, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had to intervene, questioning whether such actions indicate a lack of autonomy.
Paswan concluded by reaffirming Kumar’s commitment to building a developed Bihar.
