Patna, April 15: Senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary took the oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday. Following his appointment, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav extended his congratulations and best wishes, while also delivering a sharp critique of the new administration.
In a post on the social networking site X, Yadav expressed hope that the newly “selected” Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, would work decisively for the progress, prosperity, peace, harmony, security, and overall improvement of Bihar. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the self-respect of Biharis against external influences.
Yadav also congratulated Chaudhary on fulfilling his pledge to remove the “elected” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from power. He expressed hope that the new Chief Minister would be fully aware of the harsh realities that have persisted over 21 years of NDA governance. He pointed out that Bihar lags significantly behind the national average in various indicators, including quality education, healthcare, law and order, income, investment, employment, poverty, and human development.
Meanwhile, independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, joined in the criticism, congratulating the new Chief Minister on X. He noted the silence within the BJP despite Chaudhary becoming the party’s first Chief Minister in Bihar. He questioned whether Chaudhary’s appointment was influenced by Nitish Kumar’s preferences, suggesting that Kumar’s wishes weighed heavily on the BJP’s top leadership.
