Patna, February 20: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has launched a scathing attack on the NDA government. He stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in a precarious position. Crime rates have reached alarming levels, and criminals operate without fear, as the state government is allegedly providing them protection.
During a media interaction in Patna, Yadav remarked that since the NDA government took power, he has consistently pointed out that criminals have become emboldened. He described Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as unaware of the situation, labeling him a puppet chief minister under BJP control.
Yadav accused BJP-ruled states of having the highest crime rates. He claimed that criminals in Bihar are being shielded by the government. He emphasized that it is the opposition’s duty to raise issues whenever incidents occur, ensuring justice for the public. He lamented that nothing is going well in Bihar, asserting that the government is safeguarding criminals. Yadav noted it is unfortunate that Nitish Kumar has weakened, as the Home Department has been handed over to the BJP for the first time despite Kumar taking the oath ten times.
The Opposition Leader highlighted the alarming incidents of gang rapes of young girls, attributing the surge in crime to the government’s protection of offenders.
Yadav expressed that the people of Bihar are living in fear. He stated that when the opposition raises questions about law and order, its members are intimidated. He accused the government of behaving like thugs, asserting that it is the opposition’s responsibility to advocate for justice from the assembly to the streets. He criticized the current situation, where the ruling party seems more focused on intimidating opposition members rather than addressing the state’s law and order issues.
