Mumbai, May 18: The Cannes Film Festival is currently generating buzz on social media. Amidst this excitement, actress Tara Sharma shared a throwback video from her trip to France on Instagram this Monday.
In the video, Tara is seen strolling through the streets of France with her children. At the beginning, she stands in front of the iconic red carpet and says, “This is the famous red carpet, and if the film festival were happening now, we would wave and greet everyone as we walked on it.”
She then shares insights about the unique features of Cannes with her children. She mentions that Cannes is home to many places related to films, such as the ‘Walk of Fame.’ Tara also praises the French cafes and the vibrant music scene, emphasizing the city’s deep appreciation for art and entertainment.
Along with the video, Tara included a note reflecting on the evolving nature of Cannes and the significance of the red carpet today. She wrote, “Amidst all the glamorous looks at the Cannes Film Festival, here’s a completely different perspective. The posted video is from a time when my children were very young, and my show ‘The Tara Sharma Show – Diaries of a New Mom’ was nominated at Cannes Lions. This moment was a source of immense pride for my family and me.”
Tara also mentioned her film ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla,’ released in 2006, which was showcased at the Cannes market. She noted, “Back then, I didn’t have a big budget or a PR team to take the cast and crew there, yet the film received appreciation without any fanfare.”
She further expressed her thoughts on the current state of Cannes, stating, “It seems to me that Cannes is becoming a bit showy. I am surprised to see so many people walking the red carpet without any film or project.”
Tara concluded her post with hopes of walking the red carpet herself, saying, “I respect everyone, and everyone has their reasons for being there, but I wouldn’t want to go just for PR. I want to attend when I have a film, show, or content that I am connected to being showcased. I hope one day I will walk the official red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.”
