Vijayawada, April 18 : Taneti Vanita assumed office as Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh here on Monday. Taneti Vanita was inducted into Cabinet in the reshuffle recently. She formally took responsibilities as Home Minister of the state in his chamber in the Secretariat in Amaravati near here on Monday. Talking to the media on the occasion, she said he would strive to provide friendly policing and ensure a quick response from the police to the people. She said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had brought many reforms in the police department during the last three years. The Home Minister said he would ensure that the latest technology is accessible to the police. She reminded that AP had stood top in the availing latest technology by the police department. All measures would be taken to curb the atrocities and harassment against women in AP. She said that steps would be taken to ensure that the police would work to protect law and order without compromising. DP SY 1412
