Melbourne : Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade has become corona infected. Wade Adam is the second Australian cricketer after Zampa to be infected with Corona.

According to cricket.com.au, Wade’s symptoms are mild and he is expected to join the squad for the match against arch-rivals England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday.

A spokesman for the team has confirmed that 34-year-old Wade has contracted the virus. During Thursday’s nets session, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell donned keeping gloves and practiced with assistant coach Andre Borovec, himself a former first-class keeper.

Captain Aaron Finch had earlier said that David Warner would replace Wade, but the hosts were confident that Wade would play. However, the concern of the team is that this virus does not spread further in the team.

Let us tell you that the rules of the World Cup this time allow covid-19 positive players to continue playing. But Wade will have to go to the field separately and will not be able to use the team’s changing room before and during the match.

At the same time, Zampa has returned after several negative tests and has started bowling in the nets, raising hopes that he will play against England.

The upcoming match is crucial for both Australia and England as they are ranked third and fifth respectively with two points after losing to New Zealand and Ireland respectively.
