Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana workers get ‘tonsured’ done to protest Mah govt

Kolhapur, March 5 : Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) workers on Saturday did ‘Mundan’ (shave the head) to protest the Maha Vikas Aaghadi led Thackeray government. Today was the twelfth day of indefinite ‘Dharna’ agitation, which began from February 22 by Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) leader Raju Shetty, seeking electric supply for ten hours during the day time, however, the government was not paying attention to their demand, the activists shaved their heads and performed “Barava” (this twelfth day performed after any one passes away) of the state government by distributing meal in front of Mahavitran main office at Tarabai Park area today. On Friday, Chakka-Jam agitation (rasta roko) was held across the state, Mr Shetty, who was squatting down along with SSS workers and farmers since last 12 days, said on this occasion that the goverment was impudent, our yesterday’s ‘Chakka-jam’ agitation was 100 percent successful but the goverment neglecting our agitation.
