Kolkata, April 26: Political activity is intensifying in West Bengal as the second phase of voting approaches. BJP leader and candidate from Bhawanipur, Suvendu Adhikari, launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday.
Adhikari stated that the people of Kalighat have responded in the language that TMC understands. He warned that whatever TMC attempts will backfire. “This time, it will not be one-sided. Remove the goons, save Bengal,” he declared.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari echoed these sentiments, recalling that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lost the last election. He asserted that voters in West Bengal are against her, particularly due to corruption allegations. Tiwari predicted that it would not be surprising if BJP secures over 200 seats. He expressed confidence that the second phase of voting on April 29 could break the record with a turnout of 92 percent.
He thanked the Election Commission for ensuring fair elections, stating, “No one can intimidate voters. If someone tries, they will face consequences they won’t forget.”
Tiwari also referenced Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about dealing with criminals, emphasizing that if goons and mafia are not dealt with, it would be unacceptable. He commended Shah’s commitment to restoring order in Bengal.
BJP MP Ravi Kishan remarked that the time for ‘Didi’ (Mamata Banerjee) to rest has come. He noted that the Bengali populace is now awakened and will vote to protect their existence. He proclaimed that on May 4, the era of Ram Rajya will begin with the arrival of PM Modi and the BJP government, marking an end to cruelty, corruption, and sin. “The sun of Ram Rajya will rise, bringing welfare to Bengal,” he added, asserting that the day of reckoning for the injustices faced by Bengalis is May 4.
