Chennai, May 15: After hours of discussions and a long wait, the producers of the highly anticipated action entertainer ‘Karuppu’ starring actor Surya have announced that the film will finally hit theaters worldwide this Friday. This news has brought immense joy to fans and film enthusiasts alike.
The production company, Dream Warrior Pictures, shared a heartfelt message on their social media timeline, stating, “Some journeys test not just time but also the heart. To everyone waiting for Karuppu, to those who have continuously inquired about the film, and to all who have maintained their faith in us despite the silence and delays – we apologize and are deeply grateful.”
The post continued, “We understand that this wait has been challenging. Many of you have awaited this film with love and hope. Each delay has troubled us as well. But despite every obstacle, your support, messages, trust, and boundless love kept this dream alive.”
The message concluded with, “Today, with immense gratitude and emotion, we finally say: Karuppu is releasing worldwide! It is noteworthy that Surya’s film ‘Karuppu’, which was initially slated for release on Thursday, was postponed due to financial constraints. The discussions aimed at ensuring the film’s release were unsuccessful, leading the producers to cancel the morning shows on Thursday.
Dream Warrior Pictures reposted an announcement from producer S.R. Prabhu on their social media timeline, stating, “For some reasons, the 9 AM shows of Karuppu are being canceled. We sincerely apologize to everyone!”
The filmmakers worked tirelessly on Thursday to ensure a smooth release, while director R.J. Balaji apologized to fans who arrived at theaters for the morning show but left disappointed.
The delay in the film’s release caused significant distress for the director, who became emotional while providing updates on the situation. In a video message shared on his Instagram page, director R.J. Balaji said, “I’m sorry. This shouldn’t have happened. We watch films to escape our minds, homes, and life’s problems. It’s frustrating to have the film delayed after all this anticipation. I didn’t expect this. I hope all issues will be resolved by 6 PM today, and the film will be released.”
With tears in his eyes, he added, “I have thought about my film ‘Karuppu’ releasing on May 14 and becoming a blockbuster. I envisioned it coming to fruition.”
He expressed hope, saying, “Tears are flowing, and there is pain, but that’s a different matter. I hope God will resolve all issues and allow the film to release today.
