Mumbai, March 7: Renowned filmmaker Suraj Barjatya is currently busy promoting his streaming show “Sangamarmar.” During this promotional phase, he has been sharing valuable insights with emerging artists. In a recent conversation, he advised young talents not to fear failure but to learn from it.
Barjatya stated, “If an artist’s work does not resonate with the audience or if a project doesn’t achieve expected success, instead of giving up, one should work even harder. It is crucial to remain mentally strong while working in this industry.”
He elaborated, “When an artist invests effort into a film, show, or any creative endeavor, they hope for positive reception. However, that is not always the case. This can lead to disappointment and self-doubt. In such situations, the most important question an artist should ask themselves is whether they gave their best. If they did, they should focus on moving forward and concentrating on new projects rather than worrying about the outcome.”
Reflecting on his experiences, Barjatya remarked, “This happens in every field of life. Some days are good, while others are challenging. Sometimes a plan succeeds, while other times months of hard work may not yield immediate results. This is not limited to films or the arts; it occurs in every profession. Therefore, artists should accept these ups and downs as a normal part of life.”
Barjatya also referenced teachings from the Bhagavad Gita, stating, “The essence of the Bhagavad Gita is that one should perform their work with integrity and diligence, without excessive concern for the results. If an artist adopts this mindset, they can recover from failure more swiftly. When asked how to cope with failure, most seasoned artists would advise to keep working hard and strive to improve their craft.”
