Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has expressed his acceptance of the Supreme Court’s stay on the new University Grants Commission (UGC) rules, urging the opposition not to politicise the matter. He emphasised that the BJP government works in the interest of all citizens.
Speaking to the media, Vijay Sinha stated that the double-engine government is fully committed to serving the public welfare, leaving no room for doubt on this point.
He highlighted the ongoing campaign against land mafias and departmental corruption in Bihar, assuring that transparency and honesty in land reforms will be firmly established. He warned that any official obstructing this mission would face serious consequences.
The Deputy Chief Minister also mentioned that the government’s dedication has positively impacted citizens, generating enthusiasm for upcoming public dialogue programmes aimed at resolving land-related issues.
He informed that on January 31, the Revenue and Land Reforms Department will organise a ‘Land Reforms Public Welfare Dialogue’ in Darbhanga. The event will be held at the auditorium-cum-viewing gallery in Laheria Sarai, with the main goal of directly hearing the public’s land problems and ensuring on-the-spot solutions. Senior officials, including Principal Secretary C.K. Anil and Secretary Jai Singh, will be present.
The programme will be conducted in two sessions, with the first session running from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Vijay Sinha will personally listen to public grievances and instruct officials to address them promptly.
Recalling his early political journey, he said, “When I contested my first election, I fought against mafias and criminals. I always remember the words of Atal Ji, who said that a person with firm determination and courage cannot be stopped by anyone.”
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Vijay Sinha paid tribute by saying, “Today, the entire nation offers its respects. The children of Mother India are proud of their Bapu, and his sacrifice fills us with pride. He laid a strong foundation for a free and developed India.”
