Sunrisers Hyderabad Sets Record with Eighth 200+ Score Against Punjab Kings in IPL 2026

Hyderabad, May 6: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by jointly becoming the top team to score over 200 runs against a single opponent. In the 49th match of IPL 2026, SRH set a formidable target of 236 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

This marks the eighth time SRH has crossed the 200-run mark against PBKS, equaling the record held by Mumbai Indians, who have also achieved this feat against Delhi Capitals on eight occasions.

For Punjab Kings, this is their second-highest score in IPL history. In 2025, SRH had previously scored 247 runs against PBKS in the second innings. In 2024, they managed 215 runs, while in IPL 2019, they set a score of 212 runs in the first innings.

During SRH’s innings, PBKS fast bowler Marco Jansen conceded 61 runs in just four overs without taking a wicket. This is the second time Jansen has given away over 60 runs in a single IPL match.

SRH’s innings featured 17 sixes, setting a new record for the most sixes hit by SRH against PBKS in an IPL match.

Arshdeep Singh leads the record for conceding 60+ runs in an IPL innings, having done so three times. Besides Jansen, both Anrich Nortje and Vijaykumar Vaishak have each achieved this twice.

In this match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Heinrich Klaasen scored 69 runs off 43 balls, while Ishan Kishan contributed 55 runs. Abhishek Sharma added 35 runs, and Travis Head scored 38 runs. Nitish Reddy remained unbeaten with 29 runs.
