Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ Struggles at Box Office, Collects ₹40.25 Crore in Four Days

Despite Star Power and Multi-Language Release, Action Drama Fails to Impress Masses

MUMBAI — April 14, 2025 — Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated action drama ‘Jaat’ has turned out to be a lackluster performer at the box office. Released on April 10 across multiple Indian languages, the film has so far managed to collect only ₹40.25 crore in four days, far below expectations for a high-octane entertainer reportedly made on a budget of ₹100 crore.

Slow Start, Weekend Boost

According to box office tracker Sacnilk, Jaat opened with ₹9.5 crore on its first day. However, collections dipped to ₹7 crore on the second day, reflecting tepid audience interest. Day three brought a modest recovery with ₹9.75 crore, while Sunday (Day 4) saw the biggest jump, with the film earning around ₹14 crore.

Despite this weekend boost, Jaat’s overall performance has been underwhelming. The film has received mixed reviews from critics and an average reception from audiences, raising concerns about its sustainability during weekdays.

Star-Studded Cast Fails to Salvage Box Office Prospects

Directed as a pan-India release, Jaat features Sunny Deol in an intense face-off with Randeep Hooda, supported by a lineup of six formidable antagonists, adding to the film’s action-heavy appeal. Actresses Zarina Wahab, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Bandhavi Sridhar, Maumita Pal, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik, Daulat Sultana, and Ayesha Khan also play key roles.

Released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, the film aimed to capture a wide audience but failed to convert buzz into sustained footfalls at theatres.

Can ‘Jaat’ Maintain Momentum?

While the Sunday surge provided a glimmer of hope, all eyes are now on how the film fares during the weekdays. Trade analysts suggest that unless Jaat shows consistent performance over the next few days, it may struggle to recover its massive budget.

With strong competition and high audience expectations, Sunny Deol’s Jaat now faces an uphill battle to prove its mettle at the box office.
