Mumbai, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been in the spotlight recently due to reported issues in their marriage. However, there was a time when Sunita expressed her gratitude for having a husband like Govinda.
During an appearance on the popular chat show “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal,” host Simi Garewal asked Sunita about the best aspect of marrying Govinda. Sunita replied, “He is genuinely a good person. He never lies.”
Her comment drew laughter from Govinda, prompting Sunita to joke, “Don’t laugh, or I will tell the truth.” When Simi inquired if she was being truthful, Sunita clarified that she was just teasing Govinda. She added, “He is a wonderful husband. I am not lying. I consider myself lucky to have a husband like him.”
Despite her earlier praise, Sunita filed for divorce at the Bandra Family Court in December 2024. Reports indicate that the court recommended counseling sessions for the couple, but Govinda was reportedly unwilling to participate.
Recently, Sunita publicly questioned Govinda regarding his alleged relationship with artist Komal Rani Swarnkar. In response, Govinda shared a video on social media advising Sunita to be mindful of her words.
On August 19 of this year, Sunita withdrew her divorce petition, a move confirmed by Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, who stated that Sunita personally went to court to retract her application.
Additionally, Govinda issued a public notice warning social media users, media outlets, and content creators against publishing or sharing any false or defamatory content about him or his family. He cautioned that those found guilty could face claims for damages up to ₹100 crores.
Tensions may have eased for now, but the couple’s journey remains closely watched by fans and the media alike.
