Mumbai, May 20: As summer approaches, many parents plan vacations to hill stations or abroad with their children. However, actor Sunil Lahiri recently advised parents to take their kids to their villages during this holiday season.
In a video shared on Instagram, Lahiri expressed concern over children drifting away from their true culture. He urged everyone to reconnect their children with their roots by visiting their villages.
Lahiri stated, “Summer vacations are here, and the heat is soaring across the country. During this time, parents often take their children to cooler places or on foreign trips. These destinations do not provide children with the opportunity to connect with our country’s culture, values, and land.”
He emphasized the importance of teaching children where their food comes from. “We should take our children to our villages. They need to see the lifestyle and culture there. It’s crucial for them to understand the significance of the grains we consume daily and the hard work involved in cultivating them,” he added.
Lahiri shared that he recently took children from his neighborhood to a farmhouse, where he introduced them to farming and various aspects of nature.
Sunil Lahiri is a renowned Indian actor, best known for his iconic role as ‘Lakshman’ in the epic television series Ramayana. Beyond acting, he now runs his own production house. His son, Krish, is also a television actor and is married to the famous actress Sara Khan, known for her work in shows like Bidaai.
