Sunil Jakhar Claims Arvind Kejriwal, Not Bhagwant Mann, is Running Punjab

Amritsar, April 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a state-level protest here on Saturday, demanding justice for the family of Gagandeep Randhawa, the district manager of the state warehousing corporation, and calling for a CBI investigation into the matter.

During the event, state BJP president Sunil Jakhar stated that the party will continue its movement until justice is served. He emphasized that this is not a political event but a fight for justice. Jakhar noted that what happened to Randhawa could happen to anyone, making every Punjabi a part of this struggle.

He insisted that all accused, including former minister Laljeet Singh Bhullar, should be punished. Jakhar also praised the family’s courage to stand firm despite heavy government pressure.

He pointed out that the death of the individual responsible for cutting off the family’s electricity in police custody has complicated the case further, asserting that only a CBI investigation can reveal the truth, including where the money allegedly extorted by the minister was directed.

Jakhar mentioned another harassment case involving a woman from Tarn Taran district, where an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator was acquitted through a settlement. He warned that the government is attempting to handle this case similarly, but stressed that the people of Punjab will not allow it.

He accused the Chief Minister of being involved in the settlement process, claiming that Punjab is not being run by Bhagwant Mann but by Arvind Kejriwal, making Mann merely a nominal Chief Minister. Jakhar asserted that Punjabis have decided that only Punjabis will govern Punjab, rejecting the exploitation of the state by outsiders.

He also criticized the government for being insensitive and ignoring the voices of those demanding justice. Referring to the attack on the BJP headquarters, Jakhar stated that such attempts will not deter the party, which will continue its fight to ensure that the killers of competent officials are not spared, no innocent lives are lost in fake encounters, and justice is served to the people of Punjab.
