Bid, May 1: On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, Deputy Chief Minister and guardian minister of Bid, Sunetra Pawar, addressed the citizens of Bid on Friday. She expressed her commitment to fulfilling the developmental vision of her late husband, Ajit Pawar.
During a traditional flag-hoisting ceremony in Bid, she delivered a keynote speech outlining the roadmap for the district’s development. In an emotional address, Sunetra Pawar remarked that Marathwada is the land of saints and heroes. “I was born in the birthplace of Saint Goroba Kaka. As a guardian minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the esteemed Ajit Dada made historic decisions for the overall development of Bid in a very short time. He had many ‘dream projects’ for this district. In his absence, the responsibility has fallen on me, and I am committed to realizing that vision,” she stated.
In her speech, she highlighted several achievements and upcoming projects aimed at making Bid a self-sufficient and leading district in Maharashtra. She praised the district administration for the exemplary implementation of the Maharashtra State Service Rights Act, noting that the collector of Bid was recently honored by the state’s Chief Secretary in Mumbai.
Sunetra Pawar announced the establishment of an IT project in the MIDC area, costing ₹117 crores, which is expected to benefit over 60,000 students by providing technical skill education. She also mentioned that after the successful operation of the Bid-Ahilyanagar railway, funds have been approved for the remaining works on the Bid-Ahilyanagar-Parli Vaijnath line to enhance regional connectivity.
Plans are underway for the expansion of the Swami Ramanand Teerth Hospital in Ambajogai. Additionally, a development budget of ₹623 crores has been sanctioned for the district. To promote a culture of sports, Bid will also host a state-level volleyball tournament.
The Deputy Chief Minister also referred to the national census starting on Friday, urging all citizens to participate actively. Citing the ideologies of Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar, she emphasized that the state government is fully committed to social justice and progress.
“Let us all resolve to create a developed, capable, and self-sufficient Bid,” she urged, appealing to the residents to contribute to establishing Bid as a leading district in Maharashtra.
