Jerusalem, February 26: Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has made significant remarks regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s recent visit to Israel and the evolving relationship between the two nations. He noted the overwhelming enthusiasm among the public for this visit, highlighting that the Prime Minister’s speech left a profound impact on all attendees.

Azar emphasized that during his address, Modi spoke firmly against terrorism, asserting that there can be no compromises in this fight. He conveyed a clear message that no excuses will be tolerated for terrorism. The ambassador also elaborated on the future of relations between India and Israel, stating that both countries are moving towards a broader collaboration, particularly in the fields of sensitive and advanced technologies.

He mentioned that recent agreements have established a solid framework for both nations to work together in this direction. With the completion of these agreements, India and Israel are set to enter the implementation phase. When asked if Israel is prepared to provide advanced military technology to India, Azar unequivocally stated that this is indeed the objective of both countries, which is why the relevant agreements have been made.

Furthermore, he noted that if both India and Israel develop their defense capabilities independently and create solutions for both defensive and offensive needs, it would lead to greater security and strength for both nations. Azar highlighted that self-reliant security capabilities are key to future stability and strategic strength.

It is noteworthy that during his two-day visit to Israel, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. The Knesset’s Speaker, Amir Ohana, welcomed the Prime Minister and offered formal honors. Prior to Modi’s speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, opposition leader Yair Lapid, and Speaker Ohana addressed the parliament, expressing strong support for India-Israel relations.
