New Delhi, May 19: India and Vietnam have reached a significant agreement in the fields of artificial intelligence and quantum technology. This agreement, made in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, is set to enhance cooperation between the two nations.
The Defense Minister described this as a major and forward-looking step in the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam. In addition, crucial topics such as maritime security, defense industry, military training, and regional stability were discussed in detail. Rajnath Singh is currently on an official visit to Vietnam, where he held an important bilateral meeting with Vietnam’s National Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang. During this meeting, a comprehensive review of the rapidly strengthening defense relations between the two countries was conducted.
After the meeting, the Defense Minister stated that the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam is continuously strengthening. India is fully committed to further advancing this partnership. He emphasized that cooperation between the two countries extends beyond the defense sector and plays a vital role in maintaining peace, stability, and balance in the Indo-Pacific region.
During the visit, both defense ministers jointly inaugurated a language laboratory at the Vietnam Air Force Officer College. The collaboration in artificial intelligence and quantum technology has also taken a new direction, with both parties exchanging a crucial memorandum of understanding in this area.
During his trip, the Defense Minister paid tribute at the tomb of Vietnam’s founding father and great revolutionary leader, Ho Chi Minh, coinciding with the 136th anniversary of his birth. Rajnath Singh remarked that Ho Chi Minh’s vision, leadership, and dedication to national independence continue to inspire generations worldwide. He noted that the friendship between India and Vietnam is based on shared values, mutual respect, and historical trust.
It is noteworthy that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit comes at a time when India is continuously strengthening its strategic and defense cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. However, he made it clear that India will not accept any form of nuclear blackmail, asserting that if any country attempts to threaten India with nuclear weapons, India will not yield.
The Defense Minister also referenced Operation Sindoor, highlighting that the Indian Armed Forces have once again demonstrated the country’s military capability, courage, and decisive power.
