New Delhi, April 17: The India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) has partnered with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) to host a high-level industry meeting in Singapore aimed at enhancing strategic collaboration in the semiconductor sector.
Key stakeholders from both India and Singapore participated in the meeting, discussing ways to deepen cooperation within the semiconductor and electronics value chain.
The meeting highlighted the complementary strengths of both nations. Singapore leads in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment, and global supply chains, while India is emerging as a strong partner due to its growing manufacturing capabilities, policy support, and large market.
This initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ICEA and SSIA, designed to create a structured framework for long-term industrial collaboration.
Discussions during the meeting focused on partnerships between companies from both countries, investment opportunities, and technical cooperation. Emphasis was also placed on developing a reliable semiconductor corridor between India and Singapore.
The dialogue included strengthening the supply chain, co-development of technology, joint ventures, investment flows, and opportunities in fabrication, equipment, materials, and precision engineering.
Industry leaders also deliberated on policy support, skill development, and the readiness of the entire ecosystem.
ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo stated that this partnership reflects strong synergy between the two countries. He noted that while Singapore brings advanced manufacturing and global supply chain expertise, India provides scale, demand, and policy momentum, which are crucial for building a robust and diverse semiconductor ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary of the Electronics and IT Ministry and CEO of the India Semiconductor Mission, remarked that India’s semiconductor journey has already gained momentum.
