New Delhi, August 19: Uttar Pradesh’s Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Suresh Khanna, stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh has become a promising investment destination. With robust law and order, world-class infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies, Japan is evolving from a mere investor to a long-term strategic partner in the state’s development journey.
Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh-Japan Investment Conference 2026 held at Taj Palace in New Delhi, Khanna emphasized that the relationship between India and Japan is continuously strengthening based on shared values, similar perspectives, and mutual priorities. The participation of a large delegation from Japan is a testament to the growing trust of the Japanese industry in Uttar Pradesh. He welcomed the Japanese delegation, including Governor Kotaro Nagasaki from Yamanashi Prefecture.
Khanna highlighted that strong law and order, improved connectivity, a vast consumer market, skilled human resources, policy-driven governance, and rapidly developing infrastructure are significant strengths of Uttar Pradesh. Initiatives like ‘Investment Friend’ have facilitated business operations and accelerated the process of implementing investment proposals. He noted that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent visit to Japan has revitalized industrial and institutional dialogue between the two sides.
He mentioned that new opportunities are emerging in sectors such as green hydrogen, automobiles, advanced manufacturing, technology, innovation, and healthcare. Uttar Pradesh does not view Japan merely as an investor but welcomes it as a reliable partner for sustainable and long-term development. He expressed confidence that the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 will elevate the economic, industrial, and institutional relations between both parties to new heights.
