New Delhi, May 15: Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasized the need for schools to focus on academic quality, digital infrastructure, and the holistic development of students during a meeting on Friday.
In a virtual meeting, he urged school principals and heads to utilize available resources efficiently and effectively. The Delhi government is committed to enhancing the education system through tangible learning outcomes.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for virtual communication, Minister Sood held an extensive video conference with principals from government schools in the South, Central, and New Delhi districts, specifically zones 24, 26, 27, and 28. The meeting reviewed the ground realities and operations of the schools.
Sood encouraged all principals and heads of schools to familiarize themselves with the virtual meeting system, informing them that meetings will continue to be held online for the next few months.
He directed that a clear protocol and standard operating procedure (SOP) be established to ensure smooth, disciplined, and effective communication during virtual meetings.
The Education Minister highlighted that the Delhi government is placing special emphasis on strengthening digital infrastructure in government schools. He stated that maximum academic support is being provided to ensure the holistic development of students through digital tools and modern technologies, helping Delhi’s schools achieve new educational standards.
Sood instructed all schools to work on the “five best practices,” which include awareness related to pollution control, water conservation, energy conservation, mental health, and addiction prevention. These activities and innovations will also be published in the department’s magazine.
He announced that obtaining ‘Nipun’ certification will be mandatory for all schools by 2028. This certification focuses on proficiency in reading, comprehension, and mathematics.
