Stones pelted again at Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal

Kolkata : Stones were pelted again at Vande Bharat Express, the first semi-high speed train of the country, near Farakka in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Saturday evening. It is learnt that the window panes of the C13 coach were broken in the incident, leaving the passengers in terror.

As per sources, the incident took place around 7 pm in the evening near Farakka bridge when the train was going to Howrah from Jalpaiguri.

When the train reached Howrah station at 10.30 pm, the passengers expressed their anger to the railway authorities.

Kaushik Mitra, CPRO, Eastern railway said, ”This is a very unfortunate incident. It will be investigated.”

Notably, the window panes of Vande Bharat Express were broken earlier this month as stones were pelted at the train connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri near Malda.

However, the continuous attacks on Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal have certainly raised questions on the security of the passangers.
