New Chandigarh, April 29: In an electrifying performance, Marcus Stoinis, playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS), scored an unbeaten 62 runs off just 22 balls, featuring 6 sixes and 4 fours. Stoinis added 14 runs in the 19th over, hitting two sixes, and then exploded in the final over, scoring 24 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

In IPL history, Stoinis has faced 179 balls between the 19th and 20th overs, amassing 458 runs at a staggering strike rate of 255.86. His innings included 43 fours and 35 sixes.

During the match held at Maharaja Yadvindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Punjab Kings, batting first after losing the toss, posted a total of 222 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. The opening pair of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya contributed 37 runs in just 2.5 overs.

By the end of the 18th over, the team had lost 4 wickets for 181 runs. Stoinis then formed an unbeaten partnership of 41 runs with Suryansh Hegde for the fifth wicket in just 12 balls, propelling the team to a formidable score. Yash Raj from the opposing team took 2 wickets, while Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger claimed 1 wicket each.
