Chennai, Apr 18 : Observing that it would take one year for the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) to become functional, Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan today said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin should decide on accepting the supervisory committee which would monitor the Mullaperiyar dam. Replying to a Special Calling Attention Motion on the Mullaiperiyar dam issue given notice of by members of various parties, including Deputy Leader of the Opposition and former CM O Panneerselvam (AIADMK) in the State Assembly, the Minister said Chief Secretaries of Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be part of the supervisory committee.” “The question is whether we are going to accept the proposal to give the powers of the NDSA to the supervisory committee.
