Chennai, Mar 15 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today met Governor R N Ravi and urged him to forward the State Assembly resolution seeking permanent exemption from NEET to President Ram Nath Kovind for his assent. During the meeting held at Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister told Mr Ravi that the admission of students for the academic year 2022-23 is expected to start soon and urged him to forward the State Assembly resolution on NEET to the President. He also requested him to clear other Bills which were pending in Raj Bhavan for several months and protect the Assembly tradition and the sentiments of the people. The Governor assured the Chief Minister that he would forward the NEET resolution to the President for his assent, an official release said. It said that the earlier resolution passed in the Assembly on September 13, 2021 was returned by the Governor after 142 days. Hence another resolution seeking to exempt Tamil Nadu from the purview of NEET was unanimously passed in the Assembly and sent to the Governor again to be forwarded to the President for his assent.
