Stalin lays foundation stone for multi super speciality hospital

Chennai, Mar 21 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today laid the foundation stone for construction of a 1,000-bedded Multi Super Speciality Hospital at a cost of Rs 230 crore. In line with the announcement made by him on June three last year on the occasion of late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s birth anniversary, the foundation stone was laid today for the hospital at the King Institute for Preventive Medicine and Research Centre, in Guindy. An official release here said Rs 230 crore has been sanctioned for the project. Mr. Stalin had announced last year that a 500-bed multi specialty hospital would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore in the King’s Institute. The six-storeyed structure is being built by the Public Works Department in a 4.89 acre area and will have built-up area of 51,429 sqft. The facility will offer medical and surgical treatment in specialties such as cardiology, neurology, radiology, hepatology, infectious diseases, blood science, oncology, and nephrology. GV 1326
