Chennai, Mar 20 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today launched a mega job fair at suburban Vandalur. The event held at a college premises saw participation of more than 500 private firms offering 73,950 jobs for people in Chengalpet, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and other districts. The Chief Minister handed over the appointment orders for the first 20 persons who were given jobs. An official release said since May last year, so far 36 mega private job fairs and 297 small job melas were held in which 5,708 firms and more than 2.50 lakh job seekers participated. A total of 41,213 people, including 517 differently-abled people, were given jobs in these fairs. GV 1219
