New Delhi:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CGL 2025 notification on June 9, offering a major opportunity for government job aspirants across the country. The notification is now live on SSC’s official website — ssc.gov.in — and outlines all essential details regarding eligibility, key dates, exam structure, and the selection process. The online application window is open from June 9 to July 4, 2025.

Who Can Apply for SSC CGL 2025?

Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university to be eligible for most posts under the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination. The maximum age limit is 32 years, with standard age relaxations applicable for candidates from reserved categories, as per government norms.

For the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post, the criteria are more specific: applicants must have at least 60% marks in Mathematics in Class 12, along with a bachelor’s degree in Statistics or a related subject.

Over 10,000 Vacancies Expected

This year, SSC is expected to fill more than 10,000 vacancies across Group B and Group C posts in various central government ministries, departments, and offices. These roles offer competitive pay, with salary levels ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹1,51,100, depending on the post and grade.

Selection Process: Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exams

The SSC CGL 2025 selection process will comprise two key stages:

  1. Tier-1 Examination (Computer-Based): This will include four sections — General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. It is likely to be conducted between August 13 and August 30, 2025.

  2. Tier-2 Examination (Computer-Based): This stage will test candidates on advanced Mathematics, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics (for relevant posts), and Computer Knowledge.

Candidates who clear both tiers will be called for document verification, which is the final stage of selection.

Application Process and Fee Details

To apply, candidates need to visit ssc.gov.in and complete the registration form by July 4, 2025. Required documents include educational certificates, a recent passport-sized photograph, scanned signature, and a valid ID proof.

The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC candidates. However, SC/ST, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are exempt from paying the fee.

Important Reminder

With thousands of central government positions up for grabs and competition expected to be intense, candidates are advised to begin their preparation immediately. The SSC CGL is known for its comprehensive syllabus and high cut-offs, so early planning and disciplined study are crucial.
