Sri Ram Sene’s ultimatum to K’taka govt over mosque loudspeakers

Bengaluru, April 20 : Sri Ram Sene President Pramod Muthalik on Wednesday issued an ultimatum to Karnataka government to remove loudspeakers on mosques before May 9. Muthalik warned that his workers will play Hanuman Chalisa, Omkara and Bhajans from various temples and mutts if his demand is not met till the deadline. “What sort of government are they running? Can’t they obey the Supreme Court order against playing loudspeakers from masjids? Why are they afraid to take down the loudspeakers? Because of this fear, they (Muslims) are behaving imperiously. But, on May 9 onwards we have decided to play Hanuman Chalisa, Omkara and Bhajans on loudspeakers from various temples and mutts, five times a day,” he told reporters here. Asked if the police take action against loudspeakers from temples and mutts, Muthalik said, “Before doing such a thing, the police should first remove mikes from the mosques. If they remove ours, there will be a conflict and it will be the police who will be responsible.” Muthalik said it is not an agenda of Sri Ram Sene, but it is an order passed by the Supreme Court. He also blamed Congress for communal tension in the country as they support outfits such as Socialist Democratic People’s Front , which are radical Islamists perpetrating terrorism in the country.
