New Delhi/Colombo, March 16 : Sri Lankan Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who is on a three-day official visit to India, arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. Sri Lankan Finance Secretary S.R. Attygalle is accompanying Basil Rajapaksa. The Minister was received by Sri Lankan High Commissioner Milinda Moragoda. Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to meet Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Nirmala Sitharaman, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri during the visit, reports said. Basil Rajapaksa is set to seek a USD 1 billion line of credit (LoC) for his island country that is battling a financial crunch. The visit was firmed up during a virtual meeting between EAM Jaishankar and Basil Rajapaksa earlier during which the two ministers reviewed the progress in extending the Indian credit facility of USD 1 billion for importing food, essential items and medicine. Basil is accompanied by his wife Pushpa Rajapaksa on the official visit. RN
