Beijing, February 10: A press conference for the “2026 Spring Festival Opera Gala” organized by China Media Group (CMG) took place in Beijing. Representatives from CMG, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the National Archives of China, the China Theatre Association, the National Opera College, and the Beijing Opera Theatre attended, alongside renowned and emerging opera artists from across the country.
This year, the CMG “Spring Festival Opera Gala” will be held for the first time in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This initiative aims to create a fashionable and youthful model for promoting traditional opera amidst the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival.
The grand event will utilize technological innovations inspired by China’s rich traditional culture, ensuring that these art forms continue to shine in the modern era. Additionally, it will incorporate cultural elements from various ASEAN countries through video, fostering an international environment for mutual connection and learning among civilizations.
Guangxi is known as the autonomous region with the highest minority population in China, symbolizing ethnic unity, cultural integration, openness, and inclusivity.
