Sports feature in priority list of government: Hemant

Ranchi, Apr 15 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said that sports feature in priority list of the state government. Addressing after inaugurating the U-17 sub j or boys and girls national wrestling championships at the Indoor Stadium here he said that the government is making all possible efforts so that there is a conducive environment for sports and players get an opport ty to showcase their skills. He said that the government is regularly encouraging players and is providing them will necessary opport ties to move forward and in this regard the schemes are being also framed. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the players who had come to participate in the event. He said that they will get ample opport ty to showcase their skills and strengths as the future belongs to them. The Chief Minister said that for their performance name of the nation will be known everywhere. He said there are numerous opport ties for sports in the state as there was no dearth of sporting talents in the country. Hemant said that many players from the state have made their names in the field of hockey and sports moreover sports talent from far flung areas of the state have gone on to represent the nation and the state. He said that girls from the state participate in sports in large numbers and also bring honour for the state therefore the sports department has been given many instructions to improve the sector. Hemant said that the government has taken many steps to ensure that players do not face any problems. The Chief Minister said due to Covid in the last two years many sports events have been impacted. However by adopting all necessary measures and taking due precautions the state government managed to organise some events. He said that the government is making efforts so that sports and sportsmen can move forward and all necessary facilities are being provided to them by the state government. Sports Secretary Amitabh Kaushal, Sports Director Jishan Qamar and president of Jharkhand Wrestling Association Bhola Nath Singh were present on the occasion. AK BM
