Lucknow, February 20: A special campaign day will be held across Uttar Pradesh on February 22 as part of the 2026 Assembly constituency electoral rolls’ intensive revision program.
Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinhwa has issued necessary guidelines to all district electoral officers regarding this initiative. He explained that this special campaign aims to collect claims and objections based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2026, and to ensure progress during the notice phase of the ongoing revision campaign.
On the campaign day, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at all polling stations from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM to accept claims and objections from voters. The Chief Electoral Officer has instructed electoral registration officers, assistant electoral registration officers, and other relevant officials to ensure the effective implementation of this campaign.
The objective of the revision is to make the voter list more accurate, updated, and transparent, enabling more eligible citizens to participate in the democratic process. The Chief Electoral Officer has urged residents to take advantage of the special campaign day on February 22 to amend their names, addresses, or other details, correct errors, or register new names.
He also mentioned that Booth Level Officers are currently engaged in important tasks such as distributing notices to voters, conducting door-to-door hearings for logical discrepancies, and collecting Form-6 from voters. Given the priority of these activities, the mandatory presence requirement at voter assistance centers from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM has been temporarily suspended.
The Election Department has clarified that the special campaign focuses on eliminating errors in the voter list and maximizing the registration of eligible citizens.
