
Varanasi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Special prayers and rituals are underway at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Somnath Temple for Captain Smita Machchar, who heroically saved 174 passengers on a flight from Dubai to Israel. These ceremonies aim to ensure his swift recovery so he can return to his family.
Sanjay Kumar Pandey, a priest at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, expressed pride in Captain Machchar’s actions. He shared that special rituals are being performed for his long-term health. “We are conducting unique ceremonies, including an abhishekam with a mixture of Ganga water and kusa grass, while chanting the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra for his well-being,” Pandey stated. This initiative is supported by the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust and local Brahmins, emphasizing the community’s hope for his quick recovery.
In addition, the Somnath Temple is also hosting a grand puja to pray for Captain Machchar’s health. The temple shared a video on social media platform X, showcasing priests chanting mantras and performing rituals dedicated to his recovery.
The Somnath Temple’s post highlighted, “A special grand puja has been conducted for the nation’s pride, brave pilot Captain Smita Machchar. He displayed unmatched courage and dedication by thwarting a dangerous plot reminiscent of 9/11, saving 174 lives. With the blessings of Lord Shiva, we pray for his complete recovery. Jai Hind.”
