Bhadohi, March 5 : Accusing Samajwadi Party of being sympathetic towards criminals, terrorists, and rioters, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the previous government deprived of state of much-needed development. ” Simply, SP had nothing to do with our farmers, poor, women, youth and elderly instead the party promoted unscrupulous elements right through,” said the CM in his fiery speech. Addressing public meetings in Aurai and Bhadohi assembly constituencies on the last day of the campaign for assembly election 2022 , Yogi Adityanath drew a stark comparison between 2012-2017 and after 2017, saying, “The state’s and this district’s condition before 2017 is not hidden from anyone. Only riots, hooliganism, anarchy, loot, corruption, and terrorism prevailed.” Charging the previous Akhilesh government with the gross discrimination in power supply on ‘certain festivals’, the CM said, “earlier electricity was provided with the objective of pleasing a ‘particular comm ty’, today be it Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Janmashtami, Shivratri or Rakshabandhan, every house gets electricity without any discrimination or favouritism.” He said that BJP accorded equal importance to every district which resulted in power connections to each and every household while cables were laid in all the villages and rural areas. Sounding elated in pointing out that Uttar Pradesh’s Covid-19 management won appreciation from various quarters, CM Yogi said, “under PM Modi’s leadership, the most populous state managed the pandemic times better than many other states and countries. People are being provided free vaccines, free testing facilities and free treatment along with free double-dose of foodgrains.” The CM also took a dig at SP and BSP in the same context saying, “Had there been the government of SP, BSP the vaccine would have been black marketed.” Yogi Adityanath went on to say that BJP’s bulldozer signifies both development and security. “Only If the state will have a ‘dumdar’ (strong) government, then bulldozer and development will go hand in hand,” he said. Mounting mattack on the SP and BSP, the CM said “the previous state governments were a perfect demonstration of how public money is plundered.” CM Yogi did not mince words while stating, “The Samajwadi Party only motivated and encouraged terrorism, and gave protection to professional mafia and criminals, and spread hooliganism.” Yogi said if the BJP government is formed, they will give free gas cylinders to every beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme on Holi and Diwali. Also, women above the age of sixty years will be given free travel in the UP Transport Corporation bus. He also announced that the amount of money given under Kanya Sumangala Yojana will be increased to Rs 25,000 while under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, Rs 1 lakhs will be transferred. Accusing his predecessors of failing to undertake development work in the state, the Chief Minister said Samajwadi Party’s development was only limited to the boundary walls of ‘Kabristan’ (graveyard). “On one hand where the SP was busy in constructing boundary walls of cemeteries, we worked towards not only the revival and reconstruction of religious places, martyrs memorials’, but also towards giving them a new identity,” he added. Furthermore, the Chief Minister said because of the efforts put in by the BJP, Bhadohi’s once-thriving carpet industry regained its identity globally. MB SY 1748
